Heart Between The Branches

As you can see I have cut out the heart and appliqued this on the backing cloth hand-stitching this round the edge. The next challenge was to work on the branches, The stencil leaves were cut out of acetate sheet then stenciled with the acrylic paint mixed with fabric medium from Liquitex. My first mistake was mixing the Pebeo glitter paint with the acrylic as this dulled the silver bits. I waited for the green leaves and stems to dry then painted the glitter Pebeo on top.

The acrylic mix was fixed by using a hair-dryer on low setting and drying for quite a while making sure that everything was fixed. I'm pleased with the process so far..... Ive to design branches for the side and the bottom.

There are more butterflies and quite a few birds to work on next, so will be playing around with fabrics doing the applique technique again and some embroidered.

I'm thankful for the natural sunlight, at least this helps me to see better when painting and sewing.

Hope you are all having fun with your latest projects and succeeding.
