Black Cat Idea and Start Of A Pumpkin

Today has been a boiling hot day but I was determined to get to the healing class this after noon despite my partner Jim working all afternoon and evening. Cats played on my mind since I joined up for Pam's great Spooktacular Swap. I looked round the charity shops for books and ideas of cats but in the end just drew one from imagination. I cut out some black card and placed this on one of the twelve inch blocks that I will be using. What do you think? I wonder if all the cats can be the same since I would imagine twelve of us will each have a cat when done, I'm not so sure. I will have a play around. I also had a dabble in the photo workshop to see the effects.

You can see the spacing around the cat with the slight curved in top corner. The eyes will be either cut out with lovely greens or embroidered with green or orange, I'm not sure about the whiskers whether the white will be painted in or embroidered, its all fun playing around time.

Meanwhile the pumpkins are starting to grow and I'm so excited as I have never grown pumpkins before now I'm I suppose to put some straw under this pumpkin? or hay? well any advice is welcome. Mean while its time to get back to some sketching, please let me know what you think.
