Silk and Salt

While I have the whole house to myself til 11pm Nutbudquilter can run riot and that is exactly what I have been doing. Ive been stitching black thread on black cats round the edges for the
Spooktacular swap and painting the background ready for the Summer Swap Mini Quilt.
I painted some silk paints on some silk onto some plastic perspex then scattered some sea salt.
The salt was extra special and yummy as it was Cornish Sea Salt the only packet I could find in the larder so a little scattering of that. You don't need a whole packet just a sprinkle where you fancy.
While this is now blowing in the wind to dry its back to working on my black cats.
Yesterday I was so lost when my white pen ran out. I know its naughty and against the quilters bible to draw white on black fabric but this was the only method that worked on me and it didn't matter about the white as all will be covered over with embroidery thread.
Ive to draw out the shapes for the Summer quilt tonight and wash the border for this which was a gorgeous satin Sari in primary colours, yummy for round the border, I got this from a charity shop.
Wish me luck lol.
