Surprise Surprise
A week after my birthday finally the postman arrives with my missing fat quarters.
What a relief eh.
One company had to send a duplicate order as the other package had gone missing.
The other company which sent a package I had finally got that too after about three weeks missing in the post.
Over the weekend I will be washing and pressing these yummy fat quarters.
I plan to wash the white cotton sheeting for some batik work.
I will let you know how this operation succeeds as I go through this step by step.
All day Friday while the weather was so miserable and dull , I managed to work on some patchwork pieces for my mum's lap quilt.
Theres still a long way to go as theres another seven strips to do.
It takes me about a day to hand sew the strips together.
The backing cloth has had a lot of thought over the last few days.
I would of loved to of bought some already large quantities of metres of already done batik material at ten pounds a metre.
The truth is at the moment I just cannot afford that as I'm skint enough as it is so I'm going to have a go at doing my own batik backing, ooh this is some tall order asking for myself but I love trying out new things and who knows what will come out in the wash.
Alot of researching and note taking took place in some parts of the evening while I wanted to learn about different techniques from the net on"How to do Batik" just like quilting there are so many different techniques, everyone has their own personal way.
I waited for the postman for my giro from the welfare state but nope did not get this, it's a good thing I have my patchwork to keep me going.
